Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands, is located in the Atlantic Ocean just off the North African coast and enjoy the ever present sunshine, which is one of the reasons that make this beautiful Island, the chosen destination of millions of tourists each year.

Tenerife is a volcanic island, which owes its topography to the multiple eruptions, the last of which came to pass at the beginning of the 20th century. It has a great mix of steep terrain, breathtaking scenery and a subtropical climate with temperatures averaging 20 ° C – 22 ° C in winter and 26 ° C – 28 ° C in summer. Swimming pool weather for sure!

A brief history.
In March 1936 the Government of the Republic went to Franco to the island, fearing his growing influence and power. When he decided to collaborate with the coup that led to the Spanish Civil War, it did that Canary would be in the hands of the putschists immediately. As a result, many people escaped from the new regime. Currently, the population of the island is about 900,000 inhabitants, and around 5 million tourists visit it each year.

The magnificent views of Mount Teide, the highest peak in Spain, will welcome as you go deeper into the island. In winter, it is often covered with snow, while on the coasts still wearing the Sun. There have been four volcanic eruptions, no victims in any of them: two at the beginning of the 18th century, the third in 1798 and the fourth in 1909.

The island has not stopped developing from the Decade of the 70s thanks to significant investments, which, in turn, have made it the economic capital of the archipelago. Its capital is Santa Cruz, in the North.

Over the years, Tenerife has become a popular holiday destination, something that obvious according to the large number of places to choose. From the well-known resorts of Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos the stunning cliffs of Los Gigantes and the forests of pine trees in the National Park… this island has much more to offer than an excellent climate.

What is for sure, the Teneirfe Build team are certainly happy.
